SKS Hospitality has rolled out two Professional Diploma programmes under the government’s Akademi Dalam Industri (ADI) initiative, aiming to strengthen operational skills and leadership across its hotel workforce.
The programmes, developed with the London Examinations Board and UTMSPACE Services of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, are designed to equip staff with industry-recognised qualifications. Micro-credentials will be issued alongside the Professional Diplomas.
The Professional Diploma in Hotel Management (PDHM) focuses on hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, guest experience and service recovery. The Professional Diploma in Hospitality Leadership Excellence (PDHLE) is tailored for middle management, covering leadership, communication, conflict resolution and strategic thinking.
A total of 20 participants have been enrolled in the inaugural batch, representing staff from SKS Hospitality’s local and international properties such as Fives Hotels, AmanSari Hotels, Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre, Capri by Fraser Johor Bahru, Four Points by Sheraton Desaru and Sheraton Johor Bahru.
Head of Hospitality Meera Raj said, “Our people are the heart of everything we do. Through ADI, we are not just training talent – we are building a generation of hospitality professionals and leaders who will shape the future of our industry.”
The initiative is supported by government funding, with certifications recognised within the hospitality sector.
